Pithead Studio is an independent developer creating unique and immersive games.
It was founded by Björn and Jenny Pankratz in Bochum, Germany. Both have many years of experience in the development of huge role-playing games and are regular speakers at conferences and events where they give lectures on topics relating to the development of computer games. In 1999 Björn became part of the computer gaming industry and joined the development studio Piranha Bytes. He was a founding member and partner of the Pluto 13 GmbH, founded in 2002, and all subsequent companies from Piranha Bytes until its sale to THQ Nordic in 2019. For more than 24 years he worked as a creative director, vision keeper, gamedesigner, storywriter and composer on the Gothic-, Risen- and ELEX roleplaying-series. Jennifer worked as a gamedesigner and storywriter on the Risen- and ELEX roleplaying-series at Piranha Bytes and took care of PR and marketing for over 15 years. Their games received multiple awards from computer game magazines and industry events.
In the future, Pithead Studio will focus on creating dense and dark Adventures with a deep storyline and Horror and RPG Elements as well as realising music projects.
